Lentils Veggie Rice Porridge

Ingredients:

  1. Mixed vegetables – 1 Cup, cut into small pieces
  2. Rice – 3 Tsp
  3. Toor Dhal – 1 Tsp
  4. Moong dhal – 1 Tsp
  5. Turmeric – a pinch
  6. Cumin – 1/4 Tsp
  7. Salt for taste
  8. Clarified Butter – 1Tsp
  9. Tomato – 1 small for garnishing

Method:

1. Wash Rice and  Lentils. In a Pressure cooker add Rice, Lentils, mixed vegetables, salt, turmeric, and cumin. (Except clarified butter add all to the cooker).Add 2 1/2 cups of water.

2. Cook it till it becomes soft. Then Smash  the Porridge with a spatula. Now add Clarified butter to it.

3. Serve it in a bowl or plate. Garnish with tomato.

Tip: 1. When this dish is made for babies less than a year, the porridge can be little overcooked or grind coarsely in a mixer to help digestion.

2. Every next time you make add your own combination of vegetables and lentils.

3. Clarified Butter gives a nice flavor and taste. If you don’t have it add just butter.
